What Services Do You Offer?

We offer specialized physical therapy rehabilitation services. Our expert therapists provide personalized treatment plans to help you recover and improve your quality of life.

How Can Physical Therapy Help Me?

Physical therapy can assist you in regaining strength, mobility, and balance. It can also help manage pain, prevent injuries, and enhance your overall well-being.

What areas do you treat?

We treat the head/neck, joint pain/arthritis, low back, pre/post surgical patients, shoulder, wrist, work related injuries, sprains/strains, hip, tendonitis, knee, ankle/foot, balance problems such as vertigo, and auto accident injuries. Our tailored therapy programs aim to address your specific needs and restore your functionality.

Do you accept Medicare?

Yes! We proudly accept Medicare. We also accept select PPO insurance plans and offer cash pay options. Please call us at 818-714-1691 to verify your specific coverage before your first visit.

Do I need a referral?

California is a direct access state, which means you can see a physical therapist without a physician referral for up to 12 visits or 45 days. However, some insurance plans — including Medicare — may require a referral for coverage. We recommend calling us at 818-714-1691 so we can help clarify your specific situation.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

Please bring a valid photo ID, your insurance card, any referral or prescription from your doctor (if applicable), a list of current medications, and any relevant imaging reports (X-rays, MRI, etc.). Wear or bring comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the area being treated.

Do you offer free consultations?

Yes! We offer a free 15-minute phone consultation so you can speak directly with Dr. Aliav, ask questions, and find out if physical therapy is right for you — no commitment required. Call us at 818-714-1691 or use our contact form to get started.

How long does a typical PT session last?

Most physical therapy sessions at Steady PT last between 45 and 60 minutes. Your first visit (the evaluation) may take a little longer as Dr. Aliav will conduct a thorough assessment of your movement, strength, and pain before designing your treatment plan.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions varies depending on your condition, severity, and goals. Some patients feel significant improvement in just a few visits, while others with chronic conditions or post-surgical recovery may need several weeks of treatment. Dr. Aliav will give you a realistic timeline after your initial evaluation.

Will physical therapy be painful?

Physical therapy should not be painful. You may experience some muscle soreness after your first few sessions — similar to starting a new workout — but this is normal and temporary. Dr. Aliav will always work within your comfort level and adjust treatment based on your feedback. If anything feels wrong, speak up immediately.

Can physical therapy help me avoid surgery?

In many cases, yes. Physical therapy is often recommended as a first-line treatment before surgery for conditions like knee osteoarthritis, rotator cuff tears, spinal stenosis, and herniated discs. Research consistently shows that PT can reduce or eliminate the need for surgery in a significant number of patients. We’ll be honest with you about whether PT is likely to help your specific situation.

Do you treat post-surgical patients?

Absolutely. Post-surgical rehabilitation is one of our specialties. Whether you’ve had a knee replacement, rotator cuff repair, spinal surgery, or another procedure, we work closely with your surgeon’s protocol to help you recover safely and as quickly as possible.

Do you treat sports injuries?

Yes. We treat athletes of all levels — from weekend warriors to competitive athletes. Common sports injuries we treat include ACL tears, ankle sprains, tennis elbow, runner’s knee, shoulder impingement, and more. Our goal is not just to get you out of pain, but to get you back to the sport you love safely and stronger than before.

Do you treat sciatica and back pain?

Yes — lower back pain and sciatica are among the most common conditions we treat. Dr. Aliav will assess the root cause of your pain (whether it’s a disc issue, nerve compression, muscle imbalance, or postural problem) and create a targeted plan to relieve your symptoms and prevent recurrence.

What is a home exercise program?

A home exercise program (HEP) is a personalized set of exercises Dr. Aliav will give you to do between sessions. Consistency with your HEP is one of the most important factors in your recovery. We make sure every exercise is clearly explained and demonstrated so you feel confident doing them on your own.
